Cue Card King George Favourite

Cue Card was propelled to the head of the King George betting after his victory in the Betfair Chase.

Cue Card is 3/1 (Skybet) favourite to win the King George on Boxing Day after he made all to win the Betfair Chase at Haydock. Now proven over three miles there should be no stamina worries at Kempton.

But before punters pile into the antepost market, a word of warning – Cue Card was beaten 20 lengths in the race last year and struggled to jump out of heavy ground.

The horses that chased Cue Card home at Haydock are next in the King George betting - Dynaste (9/2 Betfred) and Silviniaco Conti (7/1 Skybet).

The biggest challenge could yet come from Al Ferof (8/1 Bet365). The 8-year-old made a pleasing return from injury with victory in the Amlin Chase at Ascot on Saturday.

Looking forward to next year, the Gold Cup market has been blown wide open, with Bobs Worth now joint favourite for the race with Sir Des Champs at 6/1 (Ladbrokes).

The race at Haydock perhaps proved too much of a speed test for Bobs Worth and given his record at Cheltenham (5 wins / 5 races) he isn’t one to give up on yet.
