Chester Races Tip

Extremely consistent, a wide margin winner at the track and nothing to recommend his rivals.

The 2.55 Ormonde Stakes at Chester looks a very straight forward race. With the focus on the talking horse, St. Nicholas Abbey, there are bits of value elsewhere. Looking at the form of every runner, there is only one possible winner - Harris Tweed.

Last September he won a listed race at Chester by ten lengths; immediately afterwards trainer William Haggas nominated the Ormonde Stakes as his target. Fast forward seven months and true to his word, here he is.

Drawn in stall one he is perfectly berthed to adopt his front running tactics. With a small field he is likely to get his own way up front and dictate the gallop. All he did was improve last year and with perfect conditions he can serenely carry on his progression.
