Chester Tips: Lyric Ace

Well drawn and a big price on the pick of his juvenile form, when fourth in the Group 3 Molecomb at Goodwood.

We saw earlier in the week how important a low draw is at Chester, particularly over sprint distances and that is where I have focused my attention in the 3.15.

Lyric Ace is nicely drawn in stall 4 and he is a massive price judged on the best of his two-year-old form.

When he was with Richard Hannon he finished fourth in the Group 3 Molecomb at Glorious Goodwood, usually one of the better sprints in the juvenile division.

His form tailed off towards the end of the year but that coincided with a step up in trip, which probably didn’t suit him. During the winter, he moved to Paul D’Arcy’s yard for 48,000 guineas and back down to his optimal trip, in first-time blinkers, he is overpriced at 20/1 (Betfred).
