Cheltenham Tips: Double Ross

Won a competitive handicap on his last start, still improving and handles soft ground.

Double Ross won a valuable handicap over course and distance 18 days ago and you fancy there is more to come from the 8-year-old.

Still a novice, his jumping was generally good last time out and he should only improve as he gains more experience.

After his win at Cheltenham trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies said he almost didn’t run him because he needs soft ground; his record on going rated soft or worse is 31323214453, although most of those runs came over hurdles.

With heavy rain forecast over the next 24 hours, by 2.30pm the going could be very testing and the ability to handle such conditions marks Double Ross out as a likely winner.
