Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Tip: Ballyandy

Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Tip: Ballyandy

Last year’s Champions Bumper winner finally delivered on his promise in the Betfair Hurdle putting up a big speed figure in victory.

It’s taken a while for last year’s Champion Bumper winner, Ballyandy to fulfil his promise but his win in the Betfair Hurdle hinted at much better things.

Well backed for the race, something must have clicked at home because he returned the biggest Racing Post Rating (151) of his career.

Well suited by the strong gallop at Newbury he put up an impressive time figure of 136. To put that into context Altior hit a 138 speed figure in the build up to last year’s Supreme Novices’.

Ballyandy’s course record is 113 and he will relish the strong pace generated by a big field. In a contest where Melon looks under-priced on the basis of an ordinary maiden victory, I’m siding with the battled hardened performer.

Back Ballyandy at 7/2 with Sky Bet and if we lose, we get our money back as a free bet up to £20.
