Pertemps Final Tips: Sir Kezbaah

Better on a sound surface and a course and distance winner last year. Looks primed for the race.

It would be a remarkable performance if Buena Vista could win the Pertemps Final (2.05 Cheltenham) for a third year in a row, but at 11/1 (BetVictor) he is about the right price.

At 25/1 (Boylesports) I prefer another course and distance winner in the shape of Sir Kezbaah. The good ground at the Festival will be very much to his liking as he’s won two of his three starts in such conditions.

Last year, racing off a mark of 125 was too low to get into the Pertemps but he highlighted his potential with an impressive win at Cheltenham in April.

Usually held-up in his races he will relish the strong gallop generated by the capacity field. His form this season is nothing special but you can ignore his recent runs as they were on unsuitable soft ground.

Trainer Jeremy Scott will be pleased to have Nick Scholfield on board as they have a 19% strike rate together, generating a level stakes profit of £102.04 to £1 stakes.

Returning to a better surface and the scene of his last win, Sir Keezbaah looks over priced at 25/1 (Boylesports); back him each way with 1/4 odds for a top-five finish.
