Cheltenham Gold Cup Tip: Road To Respect
Improving chaser who won the race formerly known as the Lexus on his last start. Won the Plate handicap at the Festival last year and underrated by the public.
The aptly named Road To Respect could be on his journey to just that. Barely out of novice company, he’s already proven a smart performer and took the Leopardstown Christmas Chase (formerly the Lexus Chase) on his last start. His profile is that of a rapidly improving horse and having earned a Racing Post Rating of 169 he doesn’t need to find much to be in the mix.
Admirably consistent he’s won 5 of his 10 chase starts including at the Festival last year when he took the Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate Handicap off a mark of 145.
Winner on a variety of ground in both big and small fields he’s got all bases covered for what lies ahead. With Might Bite and Native River getting all the attention, Road To Respect is a fair price.
