Champion Chase: (3.20 Wed) Latest Odds

We review the chances of the main protagonists in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

Sizing Europe – 10/11 (Paddy Power)
Defending champion and has won his last two Festival races at Cheltenham, both at two-miles. Looked as good as ever winning the Tingle Creek and Tied Cottage this season, the only concern is if those races have taken a lot out of him..

Finian’s Rainbow – 11/2 William Hill
Used to be a keen front-runner but settles much better as he has got older. This could be crucial, as his stamina will be severely tested up the Cheltenham hill. Doubters will point to his two defeats at the Festival but he ran a cracker to finish second in last year’s Arkle.
Big Zeb – 6/1 Stan James
Second to Sizing Europe in the race last year and finished 15 lengths behind his great rival at Punchestown in February. Aged 11 it is a big ask for him to turn around the form.

Best of the rest: Wishfull Thinking hasn’t looked right all season, Kauto Stone might lack pace and Gauvain consistently comes up short at Grade 1 level. At 20/1 (Boylesports) our racing expert has gone for Realt Dubh and he has a chance on last year’s Arkle form.
