Chelmsford Tips: Peach Melba

Chelmsford Tips: Peach Melba

Juvenile season written off with broken pelvis but pleasing reappearance at Carlisle. Would have won if running straight.

Several horses are trying to get careers back on track in the 8.10 Chelmsford, none more so than Peach Melba. She spent last season on the side-lines with a broken pelvis but showed plenty of ability on her belated debut at Carlisle.

Despite looking green she finished the race very strongly, clocking the fastest closing sectional by 0.32s. She was beaten a head but would surely have won if not hanging badly left up the home-straight.

I’m hoping the waywardness was inexperience rather than any pain from the previous injury because she has talent. She earned an adjusted speed rating of 75 and can be expected to improve with a run under her belt.
