Chelmsford Tip: Robin Weathers
Not been with Eve Johnson Houghton long and shaped with huge promise at Lingfield. Fastest closer and earned adjusted rating of 77; ahead of his mark of 74.
The 6.45 Chelmsford is worth a close watch because on paper it is a strong race for the grade and should produce plenty of future winners. Quick Breath, Roman Spinner, Sonnet Rose and Equidae are all capable of winning a class 5 handicap but i’m sticking with Robin Weathers who could go onto big and better things.
Lightly raced and having only his third start for Eve Johnson Houghton, he has the profile of an improving handicapper. Last time out he was unfortunate the way the race panned up. Held-up in rear he was too free behind a steady early gallop but had enough in reserve to run the fastest closing sectional and earn an adjusted speed rating of 77.
He is ahead of his mark and should benefit for the drop down in trip. He has run well over course and distance before and is a cut above this grade.
