Red Stripes hasn’t won since January but that is perhaps no surpirse given his turf record is 0-23. He’s not been disgraced on the grass but a return to a synthetic track is in his favour. To improve his chances further he is back at Chelmsford where he is a five-time winner.
When racing at 5f at the Essex venue his record is 21197727153146 but that improves to 19727131 when carrying 9st or less. He’s at the bottom of the handicap again with his rider taking off a further 7lbs. With such little weight to carry he could be hard to catch.
