Chelmsford: Howzak
Set an overly strong gallop when stable companion Big Impact bettered him over 6f. Lightly raced, drops down in trip and could dominate what looks a weak field.
First off - i’m not against team tactics in a race (although it can be frustrating when it happens) nor do I know it happened at Chelmsford on 9th October but it was a happy coincidence that Howzak set the strong pace that stable companion Big Impact needed to score at a short price.
Sectionals show Howzak (33/1 SP) set an over strong gallop as his finishing speed was 97.4% of his overall speed and to his credit hung on for third on his first start in a handicap. This evening he drops down to 5f and if he shows that same early dash he might not be overhauled.
This is a race that won’t take much winning and with only 4 runs under his belt (one under sacrificial conditions) there is plenty of upside.
