Champions Sprint Stakes: Harry Angel

Displayed a tremendous turn of foot in heavy ground at Haydock and has got better as the season has gone on.

The 2.00 Ascot is a cracking renewal of the Champions Sprint Stakes but on form I can only see three potential winners. Quiet Reflection enters the conversation if she is back to her best but otherwise this looks a match race between Caravaggio and Harry Angel.

The Coolmore sprinter got the best of the argument when beating Harry Angel by 0.75 lenghts in the Commonwealth Cup but since then the Godolphin charge has gone from strength to strength.

Winner of the July Cup and Sprint Cup he is going for a hat-trick of Group 1s and his case is compelling. At Haydock he quickened impressively off a steady gallop covering the final 3f 0.43s faster than anything else in the race, some feat on heavy ground. After adjusting for sectionals he earned a speed rating of 113, a seriously good performance and one that will take some beating.
