Cesarewitch Tips: Pallasator

Impressive comeback last month when only horse to make up ground off a slow pace.

It slight pains me to back the favourite in a 34-runner field but Pallasator has excellent claims in the Cesarewitch (3.50 Newmarket).

Last time out at Haydock he was the only horse to make up any ground from off the pace in a race run at a moderate gallop. He was one of the first horses off the bridle as the group started their sprint for home but he made good headway, eventually finishing a close third. A step up in trip and/or a more strongly run race looks ideal because his strength is stamina.

That run at Haydock was Pallastor’s first appearance in almost a year and given the size of the horse, he is massive, it wouldn’t surprise me if he came on leaps and bounds for the run.

Lightly raced enough to be ahead of the handicapper, Pallasator also handles cut in the ground and has a good draw in stall 7. He should run a big race at 8/1 (Betfred).
