Catterick Tip: Ruby Wonder
Has run three speed ratings comfortably in excess of anything else in this field. She would be vulnerable to a big improver or one of the debutantes but that looks unlikely.
The 2.20 Catterick is not a strong maiden, of those who have raced only one horse has earned an adjusted speed rating above 30 and that is Ruby Wonder. She has managed it three times during her young career and unless something improves out of sight she should be winning this.
She enjoyed a mid-summer break after finishing last in a Listed contest at York and ran well on her return at Ripon. She couldn’t match the turn of foot displayed by the first two (Hot Affair won next start) but an adjusted speed rating of 52 is still much better than anything else her rivals at Catterick have achieved.
