Poppy Petal finished second over course and distance 11 days ago and returning to the same track, with same underfoot conditions is a big advantage. She struggled to go the early pace, perhaps a combination of the strong early gallop and/or inexperience. However, she was the fastest closer by 0.26s and clocked a decent speed rating for a debutant.
She was obviously learning on the job and the way she finished suggests she should improve considerable for the run. She gets weight from the top two in the market and looks a solid bet.
