Carlisle Tips: Best Trip

Revitalised by a switch in yard and still plenty of headroom in his handicap mark.

There are a couple of in-form horses to look out for in the 5.05 Carlisle, but where as Pitkin has probably reached the ceiling of his ability, Best Trip can keep winning.

Racing off 68, he is still 8lbs below his highest winning mark but more importantly, he has won at this class 4 level before.

Previously an all-weather specialist he has been reinvented by his new connections as a turf horse. He now seems adaptable in terms of ground, trip and running style.

Trainer Brian Ellison is enjoying another superb season and at 5/2 (William Hill) he looks capable of bagging another winner.
