Carlisle Tip: Nadeen
Looked an exciting prospect at the start of the season and not one to give up on yet.
On the 1st April 2011, Nadeen showed an excellent turn of foot to win at Musselburgh and has made a fool of me ever since. He achieved that handicap win in a quick time but subsequently disappointed, including when tipped to win at Newcastle. I’ve come to the conclusion he needs a strongly run five furlongs and on Carlisle’s stiff track the field should be coming back to him in the 5.15.
On the face of it his last run looks poor. A 13th placed finish at York does little to recommend him, but he was only beaten 4.5 lengths that day. Forced to make his challenge widest of all, it looked like he was racing on the slowest part of the track. When victory was out of the question the jockey wasn’t hard on him, saving himself for another day.
Today looks like that day and at the biggest odds he has been all season he looks like a value bet.
