Brighton Tips: Maria Montez

Maria Montez is enjoying a terrific season and I don’t think the handicapper has caught up with her yet, which should help her win the 2.20 Brighton.

So far this season she has finished 4211722 with her only poor performance coming after she had her fourth run in the space of 12 days.

Last time out she put up a career best effort in defeat, when second in a hot handicap at Windsor. It was a class 4 handicap, a level above today’s contest and she clocked a fast time, only losing by half a length.

This afternoon she drops back to 5f, but that should suit her because the way she travels she looks better suited by a fast five rather than having to make the running over six.

She’s run well at the track before and with Amenable likely to do the donkey-work upfront, she can sweep to victory at 2/1 (Boylesports).
