Brighton Tips: Legal Legacy

His extra stamina could come into play in a strongly run race. Trainer probably targeted a big win at his local track.

The Brighton Bullet (3.40 Brighton) is always an enjoyable race, with decent prize money and a big field it creates some good betting opportunities. This year is no different with Legal Legacy massively overpriced at 33/1 (Stan James).

Claimed back in May by local trainer Richard Rowe I suspect this race has always been the target; Brighton racecourse is just 20miles from his yard.

Although he is predominantly campaigned over 7f this race could be run to suit him. There is plenty of early pace in the field and the uphill finish often catches out front-runners. If they go too fast, Legal Legacy could swallow them up on the line.

His recent form is also encouraging. Scratch his last run at Kempton as he was badly drawn and forced to race in last place off a slow pace. Before that he ran well to finish third at Folkestone whilst racing against the usual draw bias; the first two home came from the two highest draws.

Last season he won a class 4 handicap at Doncaster for Michael Dods suggesting he is capable of winning in this grade. At 33/1 (Stan James) he is the value bet.
