Brighton Tip: Elsie’s Orphan

Has recently won at this level, something her rivals cannot say.

The 2.40 at Brighton is a straightforward race. The uphill finish often catches horses out at this coastal track, favouring horses from off the pace. With Peter Island and Bermondsey Bob setting what should be a strong gallop; it is the hold-up merchants we need to focus on.

Elsie’s Orphan fits the bill. She won an almost identical race over course and distance a month ago. Held up off a strong pace, she won by a comfortable 2.5 lengths. Only a four-year-old, she has much more scope than her rivals and should improve on that last run. The fact is she doesn’t need to.  She is good enough to win this race already.
