Brighton Tip: Alfresco

A vastly improved horse with Kieren Fallon on-board. Enjoys downhill tracks.

With the ground softening high numbers could hold sway in the 3.30 at Brighton as the field race down the stand’s side. Drawn 14 of 14 Alfresco should end up in the perfect spot.

Over the years John Best’s gelding has become a Goodwood specialist, with three wins at the racecourse. No bad thing as Brighton is a similarly sharp downhill track. The other key to the horse is Kieren Fallon.

With a reputation of being ‘a bit of a monkey’ the horse seems to thrive under Fallon. His record on the horse is: 12391, with that ninth place excusable as the hood wasn’t removed on exiting the stalls.

The strong gallop should play into his hands, and if he can navigate a path through the traffic then the race could fall for Alfresco.
