Bath Tip: Desert Ace

Ran fine race behind in-form horses at Pontefract. Paid for trying to track strong gallop but finished with a good speed rating. Previous C&D winner who can capitalise off career low mark.

Desert Ace races off a career low mark in the 6.10 Bath but last time out he finished a good third in a stronger race, which suggests he is ready to capitalise on his mark. Tracking a strong pace, he couldn’t sustain the gallop but he ran and adjusted speed rating of 68 and finished behind two in-form horses.

A nine-time winner on a variety of goings, all at 5f furlongs, Desert Ace rates as a solid sprint handicapper but his price doesn’t reflect his profile. Last time he raced over course and distance he won and at 8-years-old there is no obvious decline in his output.

He should be much shorter in a seemingly wide-open race.
