Bath: Secretfact

Bounced back to form at Chepstow, travelling strongly and fastest closer despite jockey having to switch around entire field. Course specialist who is 3/6 on firm going.

Zulu Zander has been running consistently well and deserves to get his head in front but at the prices i’m siding with Secretfact. Only 0.75 lengths separated the pair at Chepstow but Secretfact covered the final 3f half a second quicker. Yes, being held up early in the race was a factor but watching the reply I reckon he was unlucky.

The 7-year-old was still travelling strongly with 2f to go but Jimmy Quinn was faced with a wall of horses. He eventually switched his mount around the entire field losing valuable momentum and covering more ground. Given a clear run he would have finished ahead of Zulu Zander.

This afternoon they are covering an extra 144 yards and although not ideal for either horse, it will inconvenience the stronger finisher less. Secretfact is a 5-time course winner including three times on firm ground.
