Ayr Bronze Cup Tip: Alaadel

Not seen much of him but best form with cut in the ground so autumn campaign makes sense. Ran huge race at Newbury last year on soft. Fastest closer by 0.47s and big speed rating.

Alaadel was picked up for 90,000 Guineas at the Sales last Autumn and can start to repay Thomas Morley by winning the Ayr Bronze Cup. Perhaps not the easiest of sprinters to handle, he’s only made 9 visits to the race-track but his 2017 campaign was littered with big speed ratings and potential.

His best form came with cut in the ground and that’s perhaps why we didn’t see him until August of this year given the prolonged dry period. Shrewd connections will have concluded his best ground was more likely in the big end of season sprints and this looks the ideal race.

A mark of 85 is not insurmountable; at the end of last season he earned a sectional adjusted speed rating of 85 in soft ground at Newbury, which included the fastest closing sectional of the race by 0.47s. He’s got ideal conditions, a potentially decent draw and plenty of ability.
