Ascot Tip: Hakam

I’ve been obsessed with Hakam winning the Wokingham for a while now (a strange obsession I know) and although that might not come to pass he should pick up a 6f race at the Berkshire track.

Last season he was desperately unlucky when beaten a short-head by Lightning Charlie. He stormed home from off the pace in an evenly run race, covering the final 3f in 35.54s, the fastest closing sectional by 0.35s. He would have won in another stride but ran out of time.

Racing off the same mark, with another big field and pace to aim at he can gain compensation - perhaps on the way to Royal Ascot!
