Aintree Tips: Dunowen Point

Finished outside the top-two only once in his last ten starts. A sound jumper who should relish the National fences.

The Topham Chase (3.40 Aintree) is run over the Grand National fences which means you want a sound jumper. Run over the shorter distance of 2m5f and combined with a large field, the solid gallop can expose any suspect technique. There are no such worries for Dunowen Point because he leaps like a stag!

A most progressive horse, he finished in the top-two in nine consecutive races before flopping at Chepstow, almost certainly due to injury. If fully recovered from the hiccup he should run a big race because conditions look certain to suit him.

Potentially still ahead of his handicap mark he looks a cracking each-way bet at 33/1 (Paddy Power) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
