Bubba Watson is tied for the lead with Matt Jones. Luke Donald continues his good form, two shots behind.
It was a case of ‘mum knows best’ as early leader Bubba Watson was convinced to play in Louisiana on his mother’s recommendation. His six under par 66 sees him share the lead with Matt Jones and is now 13/2 favourite in the betting.
After failing in his bid to become world number one, Luke Donald is well poised at four under and 7/1 second favourite. It wasn’t such a good day for Hilton Head winner Brandt Snedeker, he opened with a 77 and is no longer quoted in the betting.
With 52 players under par the betting is still wide open with the likes of Nick Watney (-1) and Steve Stricker (-2) available at 20/1 in the betting.
