Watson Can Defend Title
Won last year and tends to repeat his form on courses where he’s gone well in the past.
Bubba Watson won last year’s HSBC Champions in memorable style via a play-off and he’s a backable price for the latest renewal.
Bubba has enjoyed an excellent season on the PGA Tour, he finished first in strokes gained tee-to-green and third for adjusted scoring average. His putting has vastly improved and he’s a big danger whenever he tees it up.
The 36-year-old is also becoming a more regular winner on tour but he still saves his very best for certain courses. Half of his eight tour wins have come on two courses: Augusta (Masters) and TPC River Highlands (Travelers Championship).
Sheshan Golf Club could be another one added to his ‘favourites’. In addition to last year’s triumph, he finished T8 in 2013 and that was despite struggling on the greens. He was the only player in the top-10, outside the top-40 in putts per GIR.
