WGC Bridgestone Invitational Tips: Louis Oosthuizen

Played well at the Open without holing a putt. Will enjoy the fast greens and finished T9 at Firestone in 2010.

Former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen is starting to become a regular on high quality leaderboards and ranked 19th in the world he tends not to get the respect he deserves from the bookmakers.

At Royal Lytham, he finished T19 but that was probably the lowest position he could have finished. Despite excellent approach play, he couldn’t make a putt all week and the frustration must have got the better of him after he finished bogey, double bogey on Sunday.

A switch to a quicker putting surface at Firestone should suit the South African. He was runner-up at Augusta on lightning quick greens and has finished T37-T9 at Firestone on his last two starts.

A return to form doesn’t look far away and at 45/1 (Bet365) he is overpriced. Back him each-way with 1/4 odds for a top-5 finish.
