Wells Fargo Tips: Cameron Tringale

Finished no worse than T8 in last three tournaments. Overpriced considering his fine form.

For the last three weeks Cameron Tringale has made my short list and I’ve watched with dread as he’s put himself into contention each Sunday. To my relief he has just finished outside the money but I’m not taking that chance again.

His record since missing the cut at Bay Hill is T8-T8-T7, making him one of the hottest players on tour. Speaking after the Zurich Classic, Tringale put his good form down to renewed self-belief: “My game felt really nice for quite sometime and don’t know how to explain it. Just playing with a little confidence and it goes a long way in this game.”

Whilst his confidence is high, at 60/1 (Skybet), he is a player I want on my side. In his two visits to Quail Hollow he has finished no better than T59 but I’m not concerned with his course record; he is only 24 and getting better all the time.

Ranked 27th on tour for scoring average, that gives you an idea of how well he is playing this season. There is no reason why he shouldn’t continue his excellent run and at 60/1 (Skybet) he is each-way value with ¼ odds for a top-five finish.
