Wells Fargo Championship Tips: Trey Mullinax

Playing better than results suggest and still driver and putts the ball great.

Trey Mullinax hasn’t quite had the impact on the PGA Tour I’d hoped. Life is never easy for a tour rookie and perhaps he’s taking a bit longer to adjust to the new demands.

Much of what made him such a special on the Web.com Tour still persists. He is 12th in driving distance and 31st in birdie average, despite his approach playing being amongst the weakest on tour. Sat 66th on the tour’s all-around ranking he is better than his 144th position in the FedEx Cup.

Mullinax hasn’t finished better than T44 in his last seven starts but he was the first round leader at the Puerto Rico Open and played quite well in New Orleans last week, despite his partner contributing next to nothing.

On a new course, we could get a surprise result, so why not stick with and old favourite. Back Mullinax at 300/1 with Coral and get 7 places at 1/5 odds.
