Billy Hurley finished T9 last week and TPC Sawgrass more suited to his game. Finished T8 in 2013.
Difficult greens complexes at TPC Sawgrass has seen good putters rise to the top of the leaderboard in recent years and if the trend continues Billy Hurley III comes into contention.
The 33-year-old isn’t long , he averages a modest 271yards in driving distance but as the cliché goes, the putter can be a great leveller.
Hurley ranked 34th in strokes gained putting on the PGA Tour and the last five winners at Dye’s Valley Course have all ranked inside the top-60 for putting on their respective tours.
Hurley did well to finish T9 last week on a course that is plenty long enough for him and his record at TPC Sawgrass is good with finishes of T55-T8.
He needs a reasonable week to get into the top-25 on the money list and at 66/1 (Coral) is a good each-way bet.
