US Open: Sam Burns

Has won four times on tour in just over the year and arrives in red hot form. Long off the tee, which is a big advantage at the US Open but also electric with approaches and putter.
At the Masters I steered away from Scottie Scheffler because he seemed such an obvious option but i’m not going to make a similair mistake with Sam Burns. Apart from his lack of Major experience he appeals as standout bet. He’s won four times in just over a year on the PGA Tour and arrives in excellent form.
Burns is long off the tee, which seems a pre-requisite for the US Open nowadays, marry that with top-10 strokes gained with approaches and top-20 strokes gained putting and you have one of the best players on the planet.
In truth there is very little appeal with the players beyond the 35/1 mark, with plenty of no-hopers in the field I suspect the leader board will be full of familiar names and that is represented equally in the betting. However, I make Sam Burn fifth best in my tissue and with William Hill paying 10 places at 1/5 odds he looks good value at 30/1.
