2nd Apr 2018 | The Masters

Masters Tip: Kevin Chappell

Third in strokes gained off the tee this season and is 2/2 in cuts made at Augusta including a T7 last year. Course good fit for his game and can land a top-10 finish.

It took a while but Kevin Chappell broke his duck on the PGA Tour last season, winning the Texas Open in April. The next step is to contend more regularly for major championships because he has the game to breakthrough at the very highest level.

A terrific driver of the ball he is long and straight. He is ranked inside the top-10 for strokes gained tee-to-green and has the tools to tame Augusta. In two visits to the Masters he has finished T44-T7 and another good run can be expected from the world number 38.

So far this year he has finished no worse that T31 in stroke play events and has only missed one cut since last year’s Open Championship. His putting is still inconsistent but it was good enough to register top-10s at Pebble Beach and Bay Hill and a similar effort will give us a good return.

At 125/1 he’s an each-way play with Bet365 paying 8 places at 1/5 odds.
