Turkish Airlines Open Tips: Francesco Molinari
Excellent iron play will create plenty of birdie opportunities. Finished T25 last year without holing anything.
Francesco Molinari probably doesn’t win as often as he should but you normally get a run for your money.
Last year he finished T25 but it was another opportunity missed. Molinari lead the field in driving accuracy and was ninth for GIRs but as per usual he was let down by the putter.
On a course where the winning score was 24-under last year, backing a dodgy putter seems like lunacy but Molinari can go very low on his day. His wins at the HSBC Champions (19-under) and the Italian Open (23-under) were also shoot-outs.
The 32-year-old’s terrific iron play will give him plenty of looks at birdies and if the putter heats up, he could make a mockery of his 60/1 (Bet365) quote.
