Tshwane Open Tip: Jacques Kruyswijk

Last ten starts on the Sunshine Tour have produced six top-20 finishes. Finished fourth at Joburg Open and SA Open and this a similar type of event.

South Africans have won the last three renewals of the Tshwane Open, not unexpected given they make up the majority of the field but Dean Burmester, Charl Schwartzel and George Coetzee can all be counted amongst the best the home contingent have to offer.

Jacques Kruyswijk isn’t a household name yet but the 25-year-old’s career is on the up. He’s finished fourth at both the SA Open and Joburg Open and is 5/6 in cuts made on the European Tour this season.

The big hitting South African finished a useful T39 in Qatar last week but his best form has been on home soil. In his last 10 starts on the Sunshine Tour (including co-sanctioned events) he’s finished 44-3-11-19-MC-11-62-49-4-8.

A winner of the Cape Town Open at the end of 2016 and improved since then, he can win again especially when faced with these weaker European Tour events.
