The Memorial Tips: Matt Kuchar
Enjoyed a real purple patch with three top-6 finishes in a row and ranked third in adjusted scoring average. Won this event in 2013.
Matt Kuchar can be a frustrating player to follow but his price is more attractive in a strong field (compared to last week) especially from an each-way perspective.
The 37-year-old’s record at the Memorial is impeccable with finishes of 13-10-5-8-2-1-15-26 since 2007 and he could scarcely arrive in better form.
Since the Masters he has finished T9-T52-T3-3-T6 and in his last eight competitive rounds he has shot scores of 65-67-65-69-73-67-63-68.
Kuchar is currently ranked third in adjusting scoring average and although there are question marks surrounding his ability to close, his game is currently up there with the best and is a solid each-way bet at 22/1 (Paddy Power) with 1/5 odds for a top-7 finish.
