The McGladrey Classic Tips: Troy Matteson
A streaky player but also a two-time winner on the PGA Tour. Finished T5 on his last start.
Troy Matteson is a streaky putter but he is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour and he shouldn’t be 200/1.
His 2013 season has been nothing to write home about, with too many missed cuts but in the last month there’s been a glimmer of hope.
In his last six tournaments, he’s finished T41-T6-T14-MC-MC-T5 and although the first four listed were on the Web.com Tour, he can take encouragement from the way he’s playing.
A big hitter, who is prone to bouts of excellent putting, he is another player to have performed well at the John Deere Classic losing in a playoff in 2012.
If his putter heats up again, he’s could do some damage at 200/1 (Stan James). Back him each-way and get ¼ odds for at top-5 finish.
