The McGladrey Classic Tips: Morgan Hoffman

Registered three top-10 finishes in his rookie season and only missed one cut in his last nine starts.

Morgan Hoffman has enjoyed a rapid rise through the golfing ranks, having just completed his first full season on the PGA Tour after one year on the Web.com Tour.

The former Walker Cup player is a prodigious talent and three top-10 finishes in his rookie year shows he can compete at the top level.

Consistency is usually the problem for these young tyros but that doesn’t seem an issue with Hoffman; in his last nine starts he has missed only one cut, dating back to the US Open in June.

A long hitter and a good putter, the Sea Island course is likely to suit and at 125/1 (Sportingbet) he is overpriced for a player of his ability.
