The Greenbrier Classic Tips: Nicholas Thompson
Starting to find some form with three top-30 finishes in last four starts.
After six consecutive missed cuts, things were starting to look bleak for Nicholas Thompson but the 30-year-old has found some good form in the last month.
In his last four tournaments, he’s finished T27-T56-T24-T28, the only time he failed to crack the top-30 was at Merion in the US Open.
His results would be even better but for poor final rounds in the St. Jude Classic and Travelers Championship; both times he started his Sunday rounds inside the top ten.
Tee to green, Thompson’s game is very solid, he ranks 19th for ball striking but lets himself down on the putting surface. If he can get a few to drop then he could make a mockery of his 200/1 (Paddy Power) quote. Back him each-way and get ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
