Ellie Mae Tips: Brandon Hagy
Fits the profile of past winners. Big hitter (3rd driving distance) and good putter (11th putting average).
Last year at the Stonebrae Classic we looked for young players who could drive it a mile and putt well and Brandon Hagy fits the bill.
Like Trey Mullinax last year he started the season with limited status on tour but since the reshuffle he has been making up for lost time.
In just ten starts he has made seven cuts and registered three top-10s. His tour statistics are equally impressive. Hagy ranks third for driving distance and 11th for putting average which is the same profile as 2014 winner Tony Finau.
The 25-year-old is in a hurry to make the PGA Tour and sat 29th in the money list that is a realistic aim despite his late start to the season.
