Shriners Childrens Open: Robby Shelton

In eight rounds he is yet to shoot worse than 69. Is on a streak of five consecutive cuts made and although last week was underwhelming he is holding his form and this course a good fit.

Last week I suggested i’d be sticking with Robby Shelton through hell or high water and i’m sticking to my guns. After opening his account with three straight birdies at the Sanderson Farms Championship, I thought we might get a run for our money but that was as good as it got. Shelton made the cut but just bumbled around near the bottom of the leaderboard.

Looking for positives, that is now five cuts made in row with finishes of 1-28-26-21-61 across both the Korn Ferry and PGA Tour. I also really like the course fit this week. Shelton drove it poorly at Jackson CC but TPC Summerlin is more forgiving and his record there is excellent. In eight rounds he’s shot 69-68-67-68-67-67-68-69 and arrives in good form.

The field is slightly stronger than last week but we get a drift in price with numerous bookies going 150/1.
