A three-time winner on tour and finished T16 on second start back from a ban.
Scott Stallings has endured a horrendous year by most standards. In February, he discovered he’d inadvertently taken a banned supplement and violated the PGA Tour’s anti doping policy.
To his credit he owned up to his mistake and didn’t contest the six month ban that ended on the 7th October.
This saga has rumbled on since February and even though he continued playing after admitting his mistake, clearly his mind wasn’t in the right place as he missed seven cuts in his next 12 starts and registered only one top-50 finish.
Back from his ban, he can start the new season afresh and there were encouraging signs at the Shirners Open a fortnight ago.
The 30-year-old finished T16 at TPC Summerlin despite losing 2.5 strokes to the field putting.
A three-time winner on tour in just 131 starts, Stallings knows were the finishing line is and although this is his first look at the Country Club of Jackson he is a good each-way bet at 50/1 (Betfred).
