Paul Lawrie Ryder Cup Odds

A star turn for Europe in defeat at Brookline in 1999. After 13 years the Scot is back for more and this time he wants to savour team success.

Played: 5 (W3 L1 H1)

World Ranking: 28

Best odds to be top combined points scorer: 50/1 (Skybet)

Best odds to be top GB & Ireland scorer: 14/1 (Coral)

Verdict:

One of the stories of the tournament is the Scot having a second bite of the Ryder Cup cherry 13 years after his debut at Brookline. Back then, while the rest of his European team crumbled, Lawrie was wrapping up a 4&3 singles victory that made it 3.5 points from 5 for the then Open champion.

After all the controversy that surrounded the 1999 RC, nothing should phase the 43-year-old who thrived amid the mayhem.
