Verdict:
You can be sure that behind closed doors Team USA will have identified the German as a weak link who could buckle under pressure. It may sound harsh but it’s inevitable with Kaymer having slid quickly down the world rankings which he topped in February 2011.
The 27-year-old hasn’t had a top-10 finish since April and will need to draw heavily on the better memory of 2 fourballs wins on debut in 2010.
