Jim Furyk Ryder Cup Odds

Furyk: 2003 US Open champion

Another veteran campaigner with some surprisingly poor statistics next to his name. Hasn't missed a Ryder Cup since making his debut in 1997.

Played: 27 (W8 L15 H4)

World Ranking: 23

Best odds to be Top American: 14/1 (StanJames)

Best odds to be top wildcard: 7/2 (PaddyPower)

Verdict:

On paper, a controversial captain’s pick having lost nearly twice as many matches as he’s won over the years. His fourballs record (W1 L8 H1) is inexplicably poor in particular. Yet few would doubt that the 42-year-old is made of the right stuff. He has got a good singles record (W4 L2 H1) and starred with 5/5 points at the 2011 Presidents Cup.
