Verdict:
Struggled alongside his brother in 2010, but there was one telling contribution. Francesco’s holed 6ft birdie putt on the 18th in the final fourballs session preserved Europe’s 2pt lead heading into the singles. It proved significant in the final analysis.
That said, Olazabal will have a dilemma as to when to introduce the solo Italian into the mix this time round.
