RBC Heritage Tips: Jim Furyk

Five top-10s in his last nine visits to Harbour Town, including a win in 2010. Has the ideal game for the course.

A winner of the event in 2010, Jim Furyk is returning to the sort of form that made him a regular contender on tour. Last season was a bit of a washout by Furyk’s high standards but a win in the Presidents Cup, where he earned maximum points, reignited his career.

Since the turn of the year, Furyk’s strokeplay record is T40-T11-MC-P2-T11-11. He ranks first on tour for driving accuracy and sixth for scoring average, the sort of stats he was enjoying in his pomp.

The RBC Heritage therefore arrives at the perfect time with the perfect course. Harbour Town Golf Links is a fiddly, narrow course where accuracy is fundamental to scoring well.

In addition to his victory, Furyk has four top-tens in his last nine visits to the course. The two are made for each other. At 16/1 (Bodog) back him each way with ¼ odds for a top six finish.
