AT&T National Tips: Brandt Snedeker
Has three top-15 finishes in his last four visits to Congressional and favoured by the US Open style layout.
Congressional Golf Club, the host of the AT&T National, has a very US Open feel to it. Indeed, it hosted the national championship in 2011 and that should suit Brandt Snedeker.
The 32-year-old has finished in the top-25 in five of his last six US Opens and his last four visits to Congressional have yielded a T11-T5-MC-T8.
The course setup looks ideal; the only question mark surrounds his fitness. The world number eight has suffered with a rib problem this season but he managed four rounds at Merion without any trouble. He eventually finished T17 despite not playing particularly well.
With six top-10 finishes from just 13 starts this season, I expect him to be in the mix once again. A best price 20/1 is available but I recommend taking the slightly shorter 18/1 with BetVictor because they are paying an extra place; ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
